Disable All WordPress Updates

外掛說明

This plugin completely disables the theme, plugin and core update checking system in WordPress. The plugin prevents WordPress from checking for updates including cronjobs, and prevents any notifications from being displayed.

🛡️ New in 2.0: Security Mode

Want to keep your site patched without the risk of an automatic major-version upgrade? Enable the new Security Mode on its own settings page (Settings Disable Updates) to restrict WordPress core auto-updates to minor and security releases only. Major version and development (nightly) core updates are blocked automatically, while plugin and theme auto-updates stay untouched.

It is implemented purely through WordPress filters — no wp-config.php edits required. A clear warning is shown if the WP_AUTO_UPDATE_CORE constant is already defined elsewhere (host panel, mu-plugin, another plugin), and the admin-bar indicator turns orange while Security Mode is active so you can tell at a glance that updates are restricted rather than fully disabled.

It’s very important that you keep your WordPress theme, core and plugins up to date! If you don’t, your blog or website could be susceptible to security vulnerabilities or performance issues.

If you use this plugin, make sure you keep yourself up to date with new releases of your active WordPress version, plugins and themes and update them as new versions are released (simply by deactivating this plugin for a short time if Security Mode isn’t enabled).

常見問題集

What can I do to be up to date with new releases of my WordPress version, plugins and themes?

Simply deativate the plugin for a short time or enable the “Security Mode” in the plugin’s settings. In case new versions are available you see the WordPress notifications.

I normally never give ratings, but after 24 hours of debugging and finding out that another plugins update API service is causing my slow down, I am super happy that this plugin exists! Thanks 1 Million times! This one is a requirement for good page speed. P.S. Dont forget to disable it once a month to to updates 🙂

First of all, I'm sorry it took so long to give a review for this wonderful plugin. I've used it for years, it's always worked perfectly and still does. But if the author sees this message, I have a suggestion: please update the plugin from time to time – it doesn't have to be a major update, just a minor version change. I'm saying this because I noticed that, over the years, your plugin went lower in the priority list when installing it from within WP. A few years ago, I could search for "disable updates" and your plugin would be in the first row of results. Now, I search for its exact name, "disable all wordpress updates", and your plugin is the 15-20th result. I think this happens because WP sees that it's not been updated – although it works perfectly with the latest version of WP.

As someone caught in the middle of the fireworks between WPEngine and Automattic right now, thank you thank you thank you. This plugin prevents the 2 minute wait on every backend page load whilst the site tries and fails to talk to the plugin/theme/core servers for an update check.
