Setup in three steps

  1. Create a free account at useinvent.com.
  2. Build your assistant. Invent will crawl your site automatically.
  3. Paste the Assistant ID into this plugin and save. Done.

External services

This plugin connects to the Invent service (useinvent.com) to render the chat experience. The plugin does not contact Invent until a site administrator saves an Assistant ID and the widget is rendered on a public page.

When visitors use the widget, Invent may process:

  • the configured Assistant ID
  • chat messages submitted through the widget
  • technical/browser metadata needed to operate the widget and chat session
  • page/referrer context associated with the widget session

The Invent service is required for the plugin to function.

  1. Install and activate Invent Chat Widget from the WordPress plugin directory.
  2. Go to Settings > Invent Chat Widget.
  3. Paste your Invent Assistant ID.
  4. Save your changes.

The chat bubble will appear on every public page of your site.

Do I need to edit my theme?

No. The plugin injects the widget automatically on every public page.

Where do I get my Assistant ID?

Open your assistant in the Invent dashboard, go to Widget > WordPress, and copy the Assistant ID.

Is an Invent account required?

Yes. The plugin requires an Invent account and Assistant ID because the chat experience is provided by the Invent service. You can sign up for free at useinvent.com.

I run a WooCommerce store — should I use this plugin?

Use Invent for WooCommerce instead. It adds product-aware answers, order lookups, and cart recovery on top of the standard widget. See useinvent.com/integrations/woocommerce.

Will the widget slow my site down?

No. The widget loads asynchronously and has no impact on initial page render or Core Web Vitals.

Can I customize the look of the widget?

Yes. Colors, position, welcome message, and avatar are all configured in the Invent dashboard — no code or plugin update required.
