External Services

This plugin can optionally connect to external automotive data APIs when configured by the administrator.

vehizo.de (Pro Version Upgrade Links)

The admin dashboard includes links to https://vehizo.de for users who wish to purchase the Pro version of this plugin.

  • When: Only when an admin visits the “Pro” tab in the Vehizo dashboard
  • What is sent: Nothing. These are standard HTML hyperlinks — no data is transmitted automatically
  • Purpose: Allow admins to learn about and purchase the Pro version
  • Privacy: No visitor or user data is collected or transmitted

Mobile.de Search API (Optional Import Service)

When you configure the import settings and provide API credentials, this plugin can import vehicle data from mobile.de.

  • Service URL: https://services.sandbox.mobile.de/search-api/search (sandbox environment)
  • What data is sent: API authentication credentials (username/password) and search parameters (make, model, price range, etc.) that you configure in the plugin settings
  • When data is sent: Only when you manually trigger an import via the admin dashboard OR when automated cron-based imports are configured and executed
  • Why this connection: To import vehicle inventory data from mobile.de into your WordPress site for display and management
  • Data received: Vehicle listings data including specifications, images, pricing, and vehicle details
  • User privacy: This is an admin-only feature. No visitor/customer data is sent to external services
  • Configuration required: You must explicitly configure the API URL and provide valid authentication credentials in Vehizo > Import Settings
  • Terms of Service: https://www.mobile.de/service/nutzungsbedingungen

– Obtaining proper API access and authorization from mobile.de

– Maintaining valid API credentials and managing API rate limits

Privacy & Data Handling

  • Contact form: When a visitor submits the inquiry form, their name, e-mail address and message are sent by e-mail to the dealer. The free version does not store inquiries in the database. With Vehizo Pro active, inquiries are additionally stored as lead records and deleted automatically after the configured retention period.
  • No tracking: Vehizo does not load any tracking scripts or third-party resources on the frontend.
  • Privacy policy: Vehizo adds a suggested text to the WordPress privacy policy guide (Settings > Privacy) and shows a privacy notice under the contact form.
  • External services: Data is only sent to third parties when you configure the optional mobile.de import (see “External Services”).

Automatic Installation

  1. Log in to your WordPress admin panel
  2. Navigate to Plugins > Add New
  3. Search for “Vehizo”
  4. Click “Install Now” and then “Activate”
  5. Go to Vehizo in your admin menu to start adding vehicles

Manual Installation

  1. Download the plugin zip file
  2. Upload the vehizo-vehicle-management folder to /wp-content/plugins/
  3. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
  4. Navigate to Vehizo in your admin menu to configure settings

Initial Setup

  1. Open Vehizo in your WordPress admin menu
  2. Add your first vehicle in the “All Vehicles” tab
  3. Configure layout, colors and display options in the “Customizer” tab
  4. Use the shortcode [vehizo_vehicles] to display vehicles on any page
  5. Optional: enter your mobile.de API credentials in the “Import” tab

How do I display vehicles on my website?

Use the shortcode [vehizo_vehicles] on any page or post where you want to show your vehicle inventory. The shortcode supports various parameters for customization:

  • layout="grid" – Choose from grid, list, sideby, masonry, or compact
  • columns="3" – Set number of columns for grid layout
  • show_filter="1" – Show/hide the filter bar
  • posts_per_page="12" – Number of vehicles to display per page

Can I import vehicles from external sources?

Yes. The free version imports vehicles from the mobile.de Search API (your own API credentials required). Configure it in the “Import” tab of the Vehizo dashboard. CSV import is available in Vehizo Pro.

Is the plugin mobile-friendly?

Absolutely! Vehizo is fully responsive and optimized for all devices including smartphones and tablets. The layouts automatically adapt to different screen sizes.

Can I customize the vehicle display layout?

Yes, you can choose from multiple layout options (Grid, List, Side-by-Side, Masonry, Compact) and customize colors and display options in the “Customizer” tab of the Vehizo dashboard.

Does it work with my theme?

Vehizo is designed to work with any properly coded WordPress theme. It includes its own templates, which you can override in your theme.

Is it GDPR compliant?

Vehizo is built with GDPR in mind: it adds a suggested text to the WordPress privacy policy guide, and the contact form shows a privacy notice linking to your privacy policy. As the site operator you remain responsible for your own privacy policy and legal compliance.

Can customers request test drives?

The free version includes a vehicle inquiry form. A dedicated test drive booking scheduler is available in Vehizo Pro.

Does it support multiple languages?

Yes. The plugin is translation-ready and ships with a German translation. You can translate it via translate.wordpress.org or with tools like Poedit or Loco Translate.

Can I export vehicle data?

Vehicles are stored as a regular WordPress post type, so they are included in the standard WordPress export (Tools > Export). PDF export and CSV export are available in Vehizo Pro.

Does it work with page builders?

Yes. Vehizo works via shortcodes ([vehizo_vehicles], [vehizo_filter], [vehizo_wishlist]), which can be placed in the block editor (Shortcode block) and in page builders such as Elementor or Divi.

Can I limit vehicle access?

Vehicle management in the Vehizo dashboard is restricted to administrators (manage_options capability). Published vehicles are publicly visible like regular posts.

How do I customize the vehicle detail pages?

Vehicle detail pages use WordPress template hierarchy. You can override the default template by copying single-vehizo_vehicle.php to your theme folder and customizing it to match your design.

Can I add custom fields to vehicles?

The free version includes the standard automotive fields. Vehizo Pro adds 70+ extended vehicle fields.

Data protection accuracy, following the cross-plugin audit of 2026-09-25.

  • Privacy: Corrected a misleading statement in the suggested privacy policy
    text. It claimed the plugin “does not store the inquiry in the database” –
    true on its own, but wrong whenever Vehizo Pro is active, because the contact
    form then also stores the inquiry as a lead record. The policy text and the
    notice under the contact form now describe what actually happens in each case,
    including that stored inquiries are deleted after the configured retention
    period.
  • Fix: Added the missing German translations for the privacy notice, the
    privacy policy paragraphs and the contact form rate-limit message. They
    existed in the code but not in the catalogue, so they appeared in English on
    German sites. The .l10n.php catalogue was rebuilt as well – WordPress 6.5+
    reads it in preference to the .mo.
  • Housekeeping: Removed admin-design-mockup.html and an empty s.txt from
    the plugin package; both were reachable over HTTP and served no purpose.
