Upload `display-widgets.php` to the `/wp-content/plugins/` directory 2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress 3. Go to the ‘Widgets’ menu and show the options panel for the widget you would like to hide. 4. Some other plugins cannot hide/show widgets by categories, there are some glitches, this plugin can. It can also hide/show widgets by custom taxonomies. It still works correctly with the latest wordpress 5.5. I just hope the plugin author will keep maintaining it. Thank you for the plugin.
