Metal Sentinel Price Widget displays live precious metal prices on your WordPress site using the Metal Sentinel API via RapidAPI. Supports gold, silver, platinum, palladium, copper, rhodium, zinc, lead, nickel and aluminum.

Prices can be displayed in 180 currencies and over 800 cryptocurrencies. The widget also includes 6 beautiful themes, with more to come!

Privacy

This plugin does not track users and does not collect analytics or behavioral data.

The only data sent to third parties is your RapidAPI API key, which is required to authenticate requests to the Metal Sentinel API. No other site data, personal information, or user identifiers are transmitted by this plugin.

External services

This plugin relies on two external services in order to retrieve live precious-metal prices. Without them the widget cannot display any data, because no price data is bundled with or stored locally by the plugin.

Metal Sentinel API (delivered through RapidAPI)

What the service is and what it is used for:
Metal Sentinel is an external pricing API that supplies real-time and historical precious-metal spot prices (gold, silver, platinum, palladium, and others). The plugin queries it every time a widget needs to render fresh prices. The Metal Sentinel API is distributed through RapidAPI, so all HTTPS requests are sent to the RapidAPI-hosted endpoint at https://metal-sentinel.p.rapidapi.com/metal-quote.

What data is sent and when:
When a page containing the widget is loaded (or when the local transient cache has expired), the plugin sends an HTTPS request to https://metal-sentinel.p.rapidapi.com/metal-quote. The only data transmitted is:

• Your RapidAPI API key, sent as the x-rapidapi-key HTTP header for authentication.
• The x-rapidapi-host HTTP header (metal-sentinel.p.rapidapi.com), required by RapidAPI.
• The requested metal symbol and currency, included as query-string parameters in the request URL.

No user personal data, cookies, IP addresses, page URLs, or any other site or visitor data are sent by the plugin. (Your web server’s outbound IP address is necessarily visible to the remote service at the network level, as with any HTTP request.)
